Armed Robbery – Arrest: C19-273129

On November 20, 2019, at 3:45 p.m., Winnipeg Police General Patrol Units responded to a report of an armed robbery occurring at the Liquor Mart located at 850 Keewatin St.

Three male suspects armed with knives had entered the store. While two suspects stole numerous liquor products, another became enraged at staff. This male (suspect #1) assaulted a female employee by striking her in the head. She was able to make her way to safety retreating to an office. As this suspect was exiting the store he approached another employee, and without provocation, seriously assaulted a second female staff member. This victim was knocked unconscious. She was transported to hospital in critical condition. She has since been upgraded to stable.

The three suspects continued to attack and assault patrons in the attached mall. Suspect #1 pushed his way into a business in the mall and demanded money. One employee was assaulted but did not require hospitalization.

After exiting the mall suspect #1 confronted a female in a vehicle with her daughter. He threatened them and attempted to carjack their vehicle but was unsuccessful.

The suspect walked away from the vehicle and then attempted to rob two females of their purses, threatening them with a liquor bottle while they lay on the ground. At this point several people in the area intervened and held the suspect for police.

A 15-year-old male has been charged with:
- Robbery x 6
- Aggravated Assault
- Assault x 3
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death
or Bodily Harm x 6
