Homicide – Arrest: C19-267860
On November 22, 2019, members of the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit made an arrest in the November 13, 2019 murder of Dustin Cree Baker.
Khenedy XAIYASEN, 29, was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder. He was detained in custody.
As Previously Released:
On November 13, 2019, at approximately 9:10 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 700 block of Dufferin Avenue for a report of suspicious circumstances.
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male who appeared to have been shot.
Members of the Homicide Unit continued with the investigation, and a post-mortem examination has determined the cause of the male’s death to be a homicide. The deceased has been identified as Dustin Cree Baker, a 21-year-old male.
Aggravated Assault – Arrest: C19-274951
On November 22, 2019, at 8:15 p.m. Winnipeg Police responded to a report of an assault that had occurred in the parking lot of strip-mall located in the 2300 block of Ness Avenue. The investigation determined that a dispute between two adult males escalated to the point where one male was stabbed multiple times. The victim and the suspect were unknown to each other.
The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition but his condition has since been upgraded to stable.
Gregg Stanley DODGE, 39, was arrested in the area a short time later.
He has been charged with:
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2
- Aggravated Assault
He was detained in custody.
