Weapons – Arrest: C19-258307
On November 2, 2019, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit went to the Windsor Hotel at 187 Garry Street on a routine call.. While there, officers encountered an adult male in breach of a court order, and placed under arrest. The male was in possession of a bag which contained the following items:
- 137 grams of cocaine - street value $9,000
- 20 grams of crack cocaine - street value $1,500
- 221 OxyNeo 40mgs - street value $8,840
- A small quantity of unknown powder
- A small quantity of unknown liquid
- A loaded 9-mm handgun
- 9-mm ammunition
- Sawed off .22 calibre rifle
- .22 calibre ammunition
- Shotgun shells
- 5 cell phones
- Approximately $7,600 in Canadian currency
All items were seized by officers. The OxyNeo pills were found to have been stolen on October 25, 2019.
Sean BENNETT, a 46-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance x 9
- Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possess Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered With
- Possess Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possess Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - COCAINE x 2
- Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
- Theft Under $5000
He was detained in custody.
Weapons – Arrests: C19-260887
On November 4, 2019, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit attended the Windsor Hotel as part of an ongoing investigation. While speaking with an adult male in the hotel a bag of what appeared to be methamphetamine was seen on a table. Searching the immediate area the following items were located and seized:
- 6.5 ounces of methamphetamine
- Loaded pellet gun
- Improvised Firearm
- .22 calibre rifle
- Approximately $700 in Canadian currency
- Packaging materials
- Loose Ammunition
- Score sheets
David Allan WHITE, a 55-year-old male from Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Possess Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition x 2
- Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
- Possess Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
He was detained in custody.
Weapons – Arrest: C19-261727
On November 6, 2019, Winnipeg Police received a report of a shot fired inside the Windsor Hotel located at 187 Garry Street. Central District General Patrol officers responded and determined the following:
During a dispute in the lounge area a 35-year-old female was struck with the butt-end of a shotgun by an male. The suspect then pointed the shotgun as the female who batted it away using her arm. The shotgun was then discharged into a suite door.
The suspect fled prior before officers arrived, but left behind a large bag. The bag was seized and found to contain the following items:
- Loaded Cooey sawed-off shotgun
- Mossberg 410 gauge sawed-off shotgun
- Loaded Savage model 64, .22 cal rifle
- Several rounds of .22 cal ammunition and 12 gauge shotgun shells
On December 11, 2019, the suspect male was located in the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue and taken into custody.
Randall Preston BOURASSA, a 31-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Discharge a Restricted Firearm or a Prohibited Firearm with Intent
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possess Weapon x 3
- Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 3
- Possess Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm x 2
- Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 5
He was detained in custody.
