Homicide – Investigation: C20-81383
On April 15, 2020, at 1:40 p.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of an injured male near the intersection of Isabel Street and Ross Avenue. Officers determined that the male was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was conveyed to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was a 57-year-old male. He was first located in the rear lane of Ross Avenue between Ross and Elgin near the intersection of Isabel Street and Ross Ave.
Investigators are asking for anyone who was in this area at the time (1:00 p.m.) and are aware of any suspicious or unusual activity to report this to the Homicide Unit at (204) 986-6508.
As well, any businesses or residents in the area who have video surveillance are asked to check their cameras for any activity during this time. Please remember details that may appear insignificant at first glance could be critical information for investigators.
Missing Person - Anakesha Thomas: R20-12859
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating 14-year-old Anakesha THOMAS. THOMAS last posted on social media on April 9, 2020.
THOMAS is described as Indigenous, 5’4”, 115lbs, small build, short dyed red hair. Her appearance may have changed.
The Winnipeg Police Service is concerned for THOMAS’ wellbeing and is asking anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250 or Crimestoppers.
