On May 12, 2020, Winnipeg Police arrested a suspect in relation to the March 10 murder of Travis Joel Johnson.
Dylan James MOUSSEAU, 22, has been charged with Second Degree Murder. He was detained in custody.
On March 10, 2020, Travis Joel Johnson was murdered outside a residence in the 500 block of Elgin Avenue. A Canada-wide warrant had been issued for the arrest of Mousseau, for Second Degree Murder in connection with this homicide.
On May 12, 2020, Winnipeg Police responded to a report of possible human remains located at Brady Landfill located at 1901 Brady Road.
The investigation has determined that the remains were not human but were, in fact, the remains of a bear.
On May 12, 2020, at 4:10 p.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of an injured male who had boarded a City of Winnipeg transit bus located at Main Street and Pacific Avenue. The male was conveyed to hospital with significant injuries as a result of being stabbed. The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at either 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
On May 11, 2020, at 8:30 a.m., Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and Winnipeg Police Sevice responded to a report of a fire at the rear of a building located in the 300 block of Selkirk Avenue.
Responding officers arrested a bystander at the scene.
Anna MELIOUCHKINA, 34, has been charged with:
- Arson Disregard for Human Life
- Possession of Incendiary Material
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of Release Order x 2
She was brought before a magistrate for disposition.
