Commercial Robbery – Arrest: C20-138579

On June 15, 2020, at approximately 11:55 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a robbery at a convenience store in the 100 block of Marion Street.

A group of youths entered the store and selected various food and beverage items. While exiting the store, they discharged a can of bear spray at an employee and left with the unpaid merchandise.

Officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, located the suspects at a nearby hotel, at which time a can of bear spray was seized, and stolen merchandise was recovered.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.

A 16-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

-    Robbery
-    Possession of a Weapon
-    Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
-    Fail to Comply with Condition of release order (x5)

He was detained in custody.

A 17-year-old male of Winnipeg faces charges of:

-    Robbery
-    Possession of a Weapon
-    Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon

A 15-year-old male of Winnipeg faces charges of:

-    Possession of a Weapon
-    Fail to Comply with Sentence

They were released on an Undertaking.

Animal Call – Assistance: C20-138688

On June 16, 2020, at 5:17 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of two horses wandering loose in traffic on Plessis Road near St. Boniface Road. 

Two officers, who are familiar with horses, were able to calm them long enough to put ropes around their necks so they could be guided off Plessis Road. The horses were then escorted to the safety of a nearby gravel road, while nearby stables were checked in an attempt to identify their owner.

At approximately 6:10 a.m., the horses were turned over to a nearby stable owner who took care of them until the owner was later located.

Missing Persons – Investigation: C20-138769

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 4-year-old male child, Andrew MCKAY Jr., and his 38-year-old father, Andrew MCKAY Sr.
Andrew MCKAY Jr. and Andrew MCKAY Sr. were last seen together on June 16, 2020, in the North End area of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

MCKAY Jr. is described as Indigenous, having a shaved head, wearing a red shirt and black pants.

MCKAY Sr. is described as Indigenous, 5’10” tall, approximately 190lbs with short black hair and brown eyes. No clothing description is available.

They are believed to be travelling in a black 2010 Chrysler Town & Country van with Manitoba licence plate HTA 391 (similar to the one pictured below).
