Shooting Investigation – Public Assistance Requested: C20-141541

The Winnipeg Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred on June 18, 2020, at approximately 11:15 p.m.

The adult female victim was walking in the area of Simcoe/St. Mathews when the suspect male approached her and asked for directions. The victim then used her phone to help the suspect, and at this time, he tried to take the victim's cell phone. A short altercation ensued. The suspect then proceeded to shoot the victim, hitting her in the upper body, stole her phone and fled the area.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.

The following images are of a person of interest in this investigation. The suspect appears to be a white male, 18-30, 5'4" to 5'8" in height, with dark hair and a skinny build. The male was wearing light colored shorts and black hoodie with an unknown logo.
