Members of the Homicide Unit are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 400 block of Flora Avenue.
On July 1, 2020, at approximately 3:15 a.m., an adult female and an adult male were walking in the block when they were both shot. The male, who had sustained a critical injury, was able to make his way to a nearby convenience store, and police were contacted.
Responding officers located the female deceased on the roadway of the 400 block of Flora Avenue. The male was transported to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.

On July 1, 2020, at approximately 2:27 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Balmoral Street and Cumberland Avenue for a report of an injured male on the road.
The male had been struck by a vehicle and was transported to a hospital in critical condition where he remains at this time. Investigators subsequently met with the driver of the vehicle, and no charges have been laid at this time.
It was later determined that the male had been suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body at the time of the collision. The victim has been identified as a 44-year-old male.

On June 30, 2020, shortly after midnight, a number of people were involved in an altercation at a hotel located in the 800 block of Main Street. During this incident, a 21-year-old male was stabbed multiple times, and a 27-year-old female received defensive cuts to her hands. The male victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable. The female victim was treated and released.
At approximately 1:00 a.m., a convenience store in the 300 block of Dufferin Avenue was robbed by four male suspects, one brandishing a hammer and a knife.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., four suspects went to a convenience store in the 600 block of McPhillips Street; however, they were refused entry. One of the males smashed the front window of the store with a hammer and stole various items from behind the counter.
General Patrol units were able to track the suspects with the assistance of a K9 unit, and four males were arrested. The investigation determined that all four suspects were linked to the above incidents. As a result, the four accused face the following charges:
A 29-year-old male has been charged with:
- Robbery (x2)
- Fail to Comply with Order (x7)
- Assault with Weapon (x2)
- Possession of a Weapon
- Utter Threats
He was detained in custody
A 17-year-old male was charged with:
- Robbery (x2)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine
A 16-year-old male has been charged with:
- Robbery (x2)
A 15-year-old male has been charged with:
