On August 4, 2020, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a sexual assault that had occurred in an apartment located in the 300 block of Furby Street.
An adult female was alone in her suite when a male suspect broke into the victims' home through an unlocked fire escape door. The victim was sexually assaulted but was able to fight off her attacker and call for help when the suspect fled. The victim was conveyed to hospital where she was treated and released.
The suspect is described as indigenous, between 25-30 years of age, 5'7" in height, stocky build, short black hair, wearing a blue or grey shirt, beige shorts, black shoes, black backpack, and wearing a blue surgical mask.This investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. On August 4, 2020, at 8:10 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a male shot in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue. Responding officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced deceased.

Alicia FLETT was last seen during the late afternoon of Monday, August 3, 2020, in the West Alexander area of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
FLETT is described as Indigenous, 5’4”, 119 lbs, slim build, wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, black shoes with red soles and a baseball cap. FLETT now has short hair.
Police are concerned for FLETT’S well-being and are asking anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 986-6250.
