Public Advisory – Male Wanted: C20-245047

The Winnipeg Police Service is currently searching for a male wanted for a number of offences committed in Edmonton, Alberta.

Aaron Renee PRASAD-PAL is wanted for the following offences:

- Luring a Child Under 16 x 3
- Obtaining Sexual Considerations x 2
- Invitation to Sexual Touching x 2
- Sexual Assault
- Sexual Interference

Prasad-Pal was confirmed to be in Winnipeg on October 15.

Prasad-Pal is considered armed and dangerous and is not to be approached. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Prasad-Pal is South Asian, 24 years old, 6’3” in height, 238lbs, with black hair and black eyes.

Homicide – Public Assistance Requested: C20-241670

The Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit is requesting the public’s assistance regarding the murder of Gerald Hamelin. Hamelin was killed on October 11, 2020, at a residence in the 400 block of Atlantic Avenue.

Investigators are asking people to check their residential security systems, doorbell cameras, and business/commercial video security systems in the blocks surrounding the area of  Atlantic Avenue and Powers Street (and north to Jefferson Avenue).

As Previously Released:

On October 11, 2020, at 7:24 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 400 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of an injured male.

Upon arrival, officers located a male suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced deceased.

The deceased victim has been identified as Gerald Justin Hamelin, a 42-year-old male of Winnipeg.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
