Robbery – Investigation: C20-266110

As previously released on November 9, 2020:

On November 9, 2020, at 12:39 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 800 block of Concordia Avenue after a passerby located a seriously injured 15-year-old male in a parking lot.

The teenager was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition. It is believed that he had been robbed before being found.

Update:

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation and arrested three suspects – two known to the victim. It is believed that the suspects had arranged a meeting with the victim, at which time he was assaulted with a machete and robbed of his personal property (including his clothing). The victim, unclothed, was left on the ground suffering from severe injuries until a passerby later found him.

A 17-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

- Aggravated Assault
- Robbery
- Disguise with Intent

He was detained in custody.

A 16-year-old female of Winnipeg is facing charges of:

- Aggravated Assault
- Robbery

A 15-year-old female of Winnipeg is facing charges of:

- Robbery

The two were released on an Undertaking.

Stolen Vehicle/Assault Peace Officer – Arrest: C20-266511

On November 9, 2020, at 2:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were in the area of Powers Street and Stella Avenue when they observed a stolen car. The vehicle was followed for a short time until it began to drive erratically at a high rate of speed.

Officers disengaged from following the vehicle but utilized other nearby units in an attempt to contain it. The stolen car subsequently rammed two cruiser cars in the area of Salter Street and Magnus Avenue before it was stopped, and two female occupants were taken into custody.

The vehicle had been stolen from a residence in the West Alexander neighbourhood sometime between October 29-30, 2020.

Pamela Dawn Gladue, a 35-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance
- Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited by Order Under Criminal Code
- Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment
- Mischief Over $5,000
- Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon (x4)

She was also processed on two outstanding arrest warrants for:

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice
- Allegation of Non-Compliance with Conditional Sentence Order

She was detained in custody.

The passenger was not charged.

Stolen Vehicle/Assault Peace Officer – Arrest: C20-266736

On November 9, 2020, at 8:38 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was notified that a stolen truck was being driven in the area of Balmoral Street and Cumberland Avenue.

At 8:45 p.m., officers found the stolen truck in the area of Main Street and Selkirk Avenue. Police units attempted to stop the vehicle, but it rammed a cruiser car, and an officer was forced to jump out of the way to avoid being struck. The truck jumped the median into oncoming traffic and fled at a high rate of speed.

Soon after, the stolen truck collided with three other vehicles in the area of Salter Street and Selkirk Avenue. After sustaining significant damage, the stolen truck was abandoned, and the two occupants fled on foot.

Members of the K9 Unit tracked a suspect to the 500 block of Pritchard Avenue, where he was taken into custody after being found attempting to hide in a dumpster.

The vehicle had been stolen from the Rosser area earlier in the day.

Carlos Clos Young, a 22-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Dangerous Operating of a Conveyance
- Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
- Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Drive without licence or with invalid licence (Highway Traffic Act)
- Driver Fail to Exchange Particulars - To Driver (Highway Traffic Act, x4)
- Drive carelessly (Highway Traffic Act)

He was detained in custody.
