Weapons – Arrest: C21-20159

On January 26, 2021, at 5:07 a.m., Central District General Patrol members, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, responded to a shelter in the South Point Douglas area for a report of a female armed with a firearm. The female had entered the facility and produced the weapon.

Soon after, officers located the female in the area and safely took her into custody. The weapon was recovered and found to be a revolver-style pellet gun.

Melissa Sue Komoski, a 41-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Possession of a Weapon
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order

She was detained in custody.

Break & Enter and Weapons – Arrest: C21-20568

On January 26, 2021, at 2:04 p.m., Central District Community Support Unit members were conducting a proactive patrol in the Daniel McIntyre area when they observed a male enter a vacant house in the 600 block of Toronto Street.

The male was stopped and taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of a 5” improvised firing device (“zip gun”) loaded with a .22 calibre cartridge. He was also determined to be the subject of two outstanding arrest warrants.

Samual David Gott, a 27-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Break & Enter with Intent - Dwelling House
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x2)
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition

Gott was processed on the arrest warrants for charges that include:

- Robbery (x2)
- Sexual Assault
- Assault
- Uttering Threats
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking (x2)

He was detained in custody.

Weapons – Arrest: C21-20596

On January 26, 2021, at 2:36 p.m., North District General Patrol members, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, responded to an assisted living facility in the Lord Selkirk Park area for a report of a male armed with a firearm. The male had entered the facility and was observed to have the weapon on him.

Soon after, officers attended and safely took the male into custody. The weapon was recovered and found to be a handgun-style BB gun.

Samson Strang Owen, a 26-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Possession of a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order (x2)

He was detained in custody.
