Child Sexual Abuse Imagery – Arrest: R20-31798

In October 2020, investigators from the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) began an investigation into child sexual abuse images related to an IP address in Winnipeg. Between May and June of 2020, images and videos were uploaded using the Kik messenger app and Instagram. This information was forwarded to the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre in Ottawa.

ICE investigators determined that the IP address was associated with a single-family residence in east Winnipeg. A search warrant was executed, and analysis of electronic devices led to charges being laid against a 26-year-old-male.

Adam Lewis BERK-CHARBONNEAU has been charged with 22 criminal offences relating to possessing, distributing, and making Child Pornography, as well as Luring by Means of telecommunications.

The Winnipeg Police Service encourages parents to continue to talk to their children about internet safety.
