Robbery – Arrests: C21-74866

On April 4, 2021, at 10:23 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 800 block of Winnipeg Avenue for a report of a robbery. A female (in her 20’s) was in her yard when she was robbed at gun and knifepoint by two individuals – a male and a female.

Soon after, officers located two suspects nearby and took them into custody. A sawed-off shotgun, a hunting-style knife and property that had been stolen from the female was recovered.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.

Chance Dallas Tweet Meekis, an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Armed Robbery using a Firearm
- Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Pointing a Firearm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order (x4)

A 17-year-old female of Winnipeg has been charged with:

- Armed Robbery using a Restricted Firearm or Prohibited Firearm
- Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
- Possession of a Weapon
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order

They were detained in custody.

Impaired Driving/Firearm – Arrest: C21-74286

On April 4, 2021, at 4:20 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a parking lot in the Polo Park area. A security guard had located a parked vehicle with damage and a male inside not responding to communication.

Upon arrival, officers were eventually able to rouse the male and determined he was impaired. While taking him into custody, a handgun was observed in the vehicle near where he had been seated. A loaded magazine containing ammunition was also found.

Baldhir Singh Brar, a 32-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Operation of a Conveyance While Impaired to Any Degree by BAC or Drug or a Combination of Both
- Within 2 hrs of Ceasing to Operate a Conveyance is Impaired with BAC Equal or Over 80mgs
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime

He was detained in custody.
