Motor Vehicle Collision – Road Closure: C21-76466

During the early morning hours of April 7, 2021, a vehicle travelling on St. Anne’s Road between Aldgate Road and Warde Avenue struck a hydro pole, causing the pole and attached transformer to crash on top of the vehicle and into the roadway.

An off-duty officer in the area quickly responded by providing emergency first-aid to the driver, the lone occupant, until WFPS arrived.

The driver was subsequently treated and medically cleared at the scene.

Due to the hazard posed by the fallen transformer, East District General Patrol officers managed traffic and contained the area for several hours until Manitoba Hydro safely restored the area.
