Project Gold Dust – Arrests Update
On February 24, 2021, the Winnipeg Police Service announced details of Project Gold Dust which involved the dismantling of an inter-provincial drug network. Eleven people were charged, and $11.5 million in cash, proceeds of crime and assets were seized.
Winnipeg Police have now charged two additional suspects:
- Matthew William LIWANAG, 25
- Jeremiah Bruce ALCERA, 23
Both males have been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence – Trafficking Cocaine and Conspiracy to Commit Indicatable Offence – Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000. Investigators seized a 2015 Infinity Q50 as offence-related property.
Both accused have been released for future court dates as directed by the Criminal Code.
