Commercial Armed Robbery – Investigation: C21-101269

On May 6, 2021, at 10;00 p.m., West District patrol officers, with the assistance of the K-9 Unit, responded to a commercial armed robbery at a gas bar in the 200 block of Madison Street.

A lone male entered the kiosk and requested cigarettes. When the employee behind the counter began processing the transaction, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shoved it in the employee’s face. He subsequently grabbed the cigarettes and fled. 

Officers met with the 22-year-old male victim, who was not physically injured. No arrests have been made at this time, and the Major Crimes Unit is continuing with the investigation. 

The suspect is described as a male who is approximately 6’0” in height with a slim build, dressed in all black, with his hoody up and a black face mask.

Suspicious Incident – Public Advisory: C21-100117

On May 5, 2021, Winnipeg Police responded to an incident that occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of Concordia Avenue and Molson Street.
 
A girl in her early teens was returning home from school when she observed a male in a grey-coloured truck drive by and wave. The truck made a U-turn, and the lone male asked her if she wanted a ride home. When she declined, the male exited the truck, approached her, and grabbed hold of her wrist. Other students in the immediate area verbally intervened, and the male returned to the truck and drove away. The girl was not physically injured.
 
The truck is described as grey in colour and used. The male was described as:
- White, 30-40 years of age, with brown hair, brown mustache, tall and slim with a chipped front tooth. He was wearing a grey t-shirt, jeans, and a baseball hat.
 
This incident is being investigated by detectives from the Child Abuse Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-3296 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
