Weapons Incident – Investigation: C21-113805

On May 20, 2021, at 4:05 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the first 100 block of Windmill Way for a report of several people armed with guns that had just shot at a residential unit. They then fled in a vehicle.

Responding officers arrived and located damage to the residence consistent with gunfire. Three people had been inside at the time but were not struck.

Soon after, officers located a stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Barker Boulevard and took two female suspects into custody. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a .22 calibre rifle, a large machete, a can of bear spray and 2.85 ounces of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $1,700).

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.

Jennifer Ashley Clarke, a 32-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Transports Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Careless Manner
- Pointing a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon (x3)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Discharge a Firearm Into or At a Place in a Reckless Manner
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Identity Fraud - Intent to Gain Advantage
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order (x5)

Amy Dale Monkman, a 22-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Transports Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Careless Manner
- Pointing a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon (x3)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Discharge a Firearm Into or At a Place in a Reckless Manner
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

They were detained in custody.

It is not known if the suspects and occupants of the residence were known to each other.
