Missing Person – Cherish Harper – C21-118878

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a 12 year old female, Cherish HARPER.

HARPER's was last seen in the North End of the city May 25th, 2021.

HARPER is described as a female, 5’4’’ in height, medium build, black straight hair and brown eyes.  HARPER was last seen wearing blue runners, blue jeans, black sweater and a black shirt.

The Winnipeg Police Service is concerned for HARPER’s well-being and is asking anyone with any information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.

 

Homicide – Public Assistance: C20-202793

During the evening of August 26, 2020, Mohammed Yonis ALI was shot and killed near his residence in the 800 block of Alfred Avenue.

Detectives in the Homicide Unit have been investigating ALI’s murder for the past nine months. Today they are releasing video surveillance that shows the two suspects responsible for the murder of ALI. They are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying these suspects.

Any information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts before or after the shooting is considered valuable. Details about their physical descriptions or the manner in which they walk can also assist in their identification.

- A male, 5’11” to 6’1” in height
- Average build
- Wearing silver-framed glasses
- Wearing a light coloured jacket, hood up over a dark baseball cap
- Dark footwear with white soles

  Suspect #2
- A male, 5’6” to 5’8” in height
- Obese build
- Wearing a dark hoodie with what appears to be a white North Face logo
- Dark pants and dark footwear

Homicide – Investigation: C20-202793

The Winnipeg Police Service issued a media release on August 27 regarding an aggravated assault that occurred the previous evening: on August 26, 2020, at 8:45 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 800 block of Aberdeen Avenue for a report of shots that had just been fired in the area.

Upon arrival, officers located an injured adult male that had been shot. The male was transported to hospital in critical condition; however, his condition deteriorated to grave. 

On August 28, the victim succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Mohammed Yonis ALI, 21, from Toronto.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
