Drug & Weapon Offences – Arrests: C21-162202 & R21-35616

During the evening of July 13, 2021, members of the Guns & Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and other officers, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of De La Morenie Street.

Several people were taken into custody, and a number of items were seized, including the following:

- A sawed-off 12-gauge pump-action shotgun
- 12-gauge shotgun ammunition
- A 9mm magazine with ammunition
- A .22LR magazine with ammunition
- 8 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value of $2,400)
- Digital scales
- A stolen Suzuki motorcycle (taken from the Chalmers neighbourhood between July 6-7, 2021)

Dana Thompson Doszpod, a 29-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was detained in custody.

A 35-year-old female of Winnipeg is facing charges of:

- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

A 30-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing charges of:

- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

A 36-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing charges of:

- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

A 32-year-old female of Winnipeg is facing charges of:

- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x2)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The four were released on Undertakings (as mandated by the Criminal Code).

At about the same time as the execution of the search warrant and as part of the same investigation, a vehicle with stolen licence plates was stopped in the area of Israel Asper Way and Provencher Boulevard.

Two people were taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle resulted in a number of items being seized, including the following:

- A handgun-style air pistol (CO2 pellet gun)
- 4 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value of $1,200)
- 10 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine (estimated street value of $1,000)
- 2 ounces of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $1,000)
- $1,280 in Canadian currency
- A digital scale
- Packaging materials

A 20-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing charges of:

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (x2)
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Possession of a Weapon

A 35-year-old female of Winnipeg is facing charges of:

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (x2)
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Possession of a Weapon

They were released on Undertakings (as mandated by the Criminal Code).
