Sirens for Life 2021 – Blood Donor Challenge

Every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood. First responders often see this need for blood firsthand. In fact, just one patient with critical bleeding may require up to eight blood donors to help save their life.

The Canadian Blood Services’ annual Sirens for Life blood donation challenge will take place throughout July and August 2021.

The Winnipeg Police Service, alongside other emergency service providers, will participate in this event by donating blood in a competitive effort to help meet the increasing demands of our blood supply.

To comply with the current COVID-19 screening and health guidelines, enhanced wellness protocols will be in place, and blood donations are made by pre-booking an appointment. To be counted in the challenge, indicate that you are participating in the 2021 Sirens for Life Blood Challenge when booking your appointment.

First responders and members of the public are encouraged to donate. This can be done at the Canadian Blood Services, Winnipeg Donor Centre - 777 William Avenue.

Contact: Canadian Blood Services at (1-888-2-DONATE) 1-888-236-6283 or at https://www.blood.ca to book your appointment.
