Robbery with Firearm – Arrest: C21-164292

On July 15, 2021, West District General Patrol officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at a bank in the Bridgewater neighbourhood.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., a male entered the bank, with his face covered and armed with what appeared to be an assault-style rifle. He approached the front counter, pointed the firearm at an employee and demanded money. The employee turned over the money and did not suffer any physical injuries.

The suspect took the money and fled in a vehicle. Police were immediately contacted, and the suspect was soon located and taken into custody at a residence in the 100 block of Bairdmore Boulevard.

The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation, and a search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence. A vehicle, along with the money and an imitation firearm, were seized.

Oshiobugie Bryan OKHAIMO, a 24-year-old male, of Winnipeg was charged with the following offences:
- Armed Robbery using a Firearm
- Use of Imitation Firearm During the Commission of an Indictable Offence
- Pointing a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon
- Disguise with Intent

He was detained in custody.
