Shooting – Investigation: C21- 206955

On Sunday, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of an assault in the area of Spence Street and Cumberland Avenue.

Officers located an adult male who had a serious injury later determined to be a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition however he has life-altering injuries as a result of being shot.

No suspects have yet been arrested. The Major Crimes Unit is continuing with the investigation.

Aggravated Assault – Investigation: C21-207033

On Sunday, at approximately 4:30 a.m., North District Patrol officers responded to the 300 block of Magnus Avenue for the report of an adult male who had been seriously assaulted with a weapon while walking his dog.

The victim had managed to get back home and police were contacted. Officers located a male in his seventies with severe injuries. They immediately transported him to hospital in unstable condition.

Investigators believe that the victim was attacked in the area of Burrows Avenue and Charles Street by an unknown group of people while he was walking his dog in the early morning. The victim was subsequently upgraded to stable and treated for serious injuries.

No suspects have yet been arrested. The Major Crimes Unit is continuing with the investigation.

Assault with Weapon – Arrest: C21-207131

On Sunday at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers from the North District responded to the report of an elderly person who had been randomly struck in the face with a brick by an unknown suspect in the area of Main and Dufferin.

Officers arrived on scene and located a female in her seventies who was injured and bleeding; she was subsequently transported to hospital in stable condition. Witnesses who remained in the area directed police to the suspect. An adult female who was believed to be intoxicated by an unknown substance was immediately taken into custody.

Nolene Anna PATCHINOSE, 22, of Winnipeg, was charged with Assault with a Weapon and detained in custody.

Shooting – Investigation: C21-206178

On September 4, 2021, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Winnipeg Police General Patrol officers responded to a report of shots fired at a nightclub located in the 500 block of Portage Avenue. Multiple units arrived on scene and determined that the lounge was the scene of an apparent shooting. An uninvolved police unit was attending to another incident at the Health Sciences Centre when two people arrived via private transport advising they had been injured at the nightclub.

A twenty-seven-year-old female was treated for injuries sustained from flying glass. A male in his early 30’s was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was in critical condition. He remains in hospital in critical condition.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is continuing by detectives from the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call either 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Stolen Vehicle – Arrest: R21-207428

On September 5, 2021, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Winnipeg Police General Patrol officers observed a vehicle stolen from outside the city limits in the area of King Edward Street and Logan Avenue. Air1 was able to quickly acquire the vehicle, and a lengthy follow was initiated, during which time drugs, weapons and stolen property were observed being thrown from the vehicle as it drove out of the city.

The vehicle was located in a farmer’s field in the R.M. of Rosser, where it had caused extensive damage.

David Larrance PENNER, 32, faces 11 new charges and outstanding charges from seven outstanding arrest warrants. He was detained in custody.

Melanie May Lynn RUDOLPH, 31, faces charges of Possess Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000, as well as two breaches of court orders. She was detained in custody.
