Impaired Driving/Road Rage – Arrest: C21-219399

On September 19, 2021, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a caller contacted the Winnipeg Police Service to advise that a vehicle was driving erratically in the area of Pembina Highway and Bairdmore Boulevard/Dalhousie Drive (south intersection).

Soon after, officers responded to the Sage Creek area after a different caller reported being rammed multiple times by the same vehicle. A third caller reported having seen the vehicle collide with a light standard and drive through a fenced yard.

AIR1 was assigned and quickly located a suspect vehicle in a restaurant drive-thru in the first 100 block of Sage Creek Boulevard. Officers were directed to the vehicle, which had extensive damage, and placed the female driver under arrest.

East District General Patrol members continued with the investigation.

It is believed that after having been observed driving erratically in the Richmond West/Fort Richmond area, the suspect began to aggressively tailgate a driver (unknown to each other) on the Perimeter Highway – flashing her headlights and slowing down in front of him. She later rammed the driver several times. The victim fled into a nearby parking lot, at which time the suspect continued to ram his vehicle. The suspect followed but eventually lost control of her vehicle, and the victim was able to flee.

A 37-year-old female of Winnipeg was arrested and is facing charges of:

- Operation of a Conveyance While Impaired to Any Degree by BAC or Drug or a Combination of Both
- Fail or Refuse to Comply with Demand
- Assault with a Weapon

She was later released on an Undertaking (as mandated by the Criminal Code).
