Break and Enter – Arrest: C21-247254
On October 22, 2021, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a residential break and enter in progress in the Chalmers Park neighbourhood. An adult resident was frightened and hiding within the residence.
AIR1 quickly arrived and observed a suspect using an object to damage property and smash the windows of a residence. They illuminated the area and provided updates for the ground units that were en route.
When the General Patrol Units arrived, the suspect fled on foot and a short foot pursuit ensued. With the assistance of AIR1, police located him on Riverton Avenue. A conductive electrical weapon (Taser) was deployed, and he was taken into custody.
A 20-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:
- Break and Enter with Intent
- Mischief Over $5,000
- Possession of a Weapon
- Resist Peace Officer
- Escape Lawful Custody
He was detained in custody.
