On October 23, 2021, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol officers and the Tactical Support Team responded to a shooting at an establishment in the 700 block of Corydon Avenue.
Upon arrival, police located two male suspects, who were taken into custody.
Investigators believe that after one of the accused was denied entry into the bar, he removed a concealed firearm and shot several rounds into the bar and at fleeing patrons. Nobody was injured during the barrage of shots, and police recovered a firearm.The Major Crimes Unit took over this investigation. A 21-year-old and a 17-year-old from Winnipeg were charged with firearm-related offences. They were both detained in custody.
On October 23, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a male who had been shot while riding his bike in the 100 block of Higgins Avenue.
Police located a male in his forties who had been shot in the lower extremities and was transported to hospital in stable condition.
The victim related that he was riding his bike when two unknown males approached him and requested a cigarette. An argument ensued, and the victim fled but was subsequently shot as he was riding away.
No suspects have been arrested. The Major Crimes Unit has taken over this investigation.
