Aggravated Assault – Arrest: C21-521589

On October 27, 2021, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Winnipeg Police Service’s General Patrol officers, and K9 Unit, responded to a report of a male assaulted with a weapon in the 500 block of Hethrington Avenue.

Officers located a male in his thirties who had been stabbed. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and was later upgraded to stable condition. The K9 Unit tracked the suspect a short distance away, where he was taken into custody.

Investigators believed the two were known to each other as they lived in a shared residence. The victim was awoken from his sleep when he observed the accused damaging property. When the victim confronted the accused, he was assaulted with a weapon. The accused then exited the house and damaged a vehicle parked out front, and fled on foot.

A 35-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing charges for Aggravated Assault, Mischief Under $5,000, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He was detained in custody.
