November 3, 2021 Media Release
On October 30, 2021, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a break and enter at a residence in the 500 block of Stella Avenue. Information indicated that two unknown suspects had broken into a vacant property and attempted to steal a furnace. Residents reported an odour of natural gas, which could be smelled outside.
North District General Patrol officers arrived and confirmed the strong smell of propane gas emanating from the residence, where two unresponsive individuals could be seen inside the house. The two officers quickly reacted, entered the residence, and rescued two adults who had been overcome by the noxious gas fumes.
Once safely outside, the two individuals regained consciousness and were subsequently assessed and treated by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.
It was believed that the two suspects were attempting to steal the furnace when the gas feed became dislodged, causing the leak, which rendered them unconscious. Manitoba Hydro attended to repair the damage and secure the leak.
One adult male and one adult female in their forties were detained and later released with no charges.

Sadowy was charged with:
- Armed Robbery Using a Firearm
