Firearms and Drugs – Arrests: C21-266677

On November 6, 2021, officers in the Guns & Gangs Unit, entered into a firearms investigation in the William Whyte neighbourhood. With the assistance of the West District Community Support Unit, K9 and the Tactical Support Team, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 600 block of Flora Avenue.

Two adults and a youth were taken into custody, and the following items were seized:

- sawed-off .22 calibre Ruger rifle (obliterated serial number)
- loaded revolver
- Remington 870 shotgun
- various compatible ammunition
- various dismantled firearms parts
- 6.6 grams of crack cocaine (estimated street value of $600)
- identity documents

Storm COOK, an 18-year-old male, was charged with 11 drug trafficking and firearm-related offences and was detained in custody.

A 33-year-old female is facing 12 drug trafficking and firearm-related offences and was released on an Appearance Notice (as mandated per the criminal code).

A 17-year-old- female was charged with 16 drug trafficking and firearm-related offences and was detained in custody.

During the beginning of November, the North District Community Support Unit, launched a drug and firearm investigation within the William Whyte/Lord Selkirk neighbourhoods. This investigation aimed to quell violent criminal offences related to gang activity and the drug subculture.

On November 14, 2021, officers arrested a male who was in possession of a loaded firearm in a taxicab in the 200 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Tyler Robson LANGFORD (28) of Winnipeg was charged with 25 firearm and drug-related offences and detained in custody.

As the investigation continued a subsequent search warrant was executed with the assistance of the Guns & Gangs Unit, West District Community Support and the Tactical Support Team at a residence in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue.

Two adults were taken into custody, and the following items were seized:

- loaded Mossberg pistol
- GSG-16 .22 calibre rifle (obliterated serial number)
- loaded GSG-15 .22 caliber rifle
- loaded Glock pistol
- loaded magazines containing compatible ammunition
- various rounds of compatible ammunition
- a ballistic vest
- 500 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine (estimated street value of $35,000)
- Percocet pills (estimated street value of $50)
- drug paraphernalia and packaging materials
- cell phones

Sheldon David CONTOIS (27) was charged with 20 drug-trafficking and firearm-related offences, and Jason Carl LAMY (40) was charged with 15 drug-trafficking and firearm-related offences. They were both detained in custody.
