Aggravated Assault - Arrest/Public Assistance: C21-207033

Update:

The Winnipeg Police Service had previously released details on a serious assault that occurred during the early morning of September 7, 2021, near Burrows Avenue and Charles Street.

The Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation and determined that the victim, a male in his seventies, was walking his dog when he was confronted by an unknown female who began yelling and swearing at him. Without provocation, the victim was then attacked with a knife by two additional males who came from across the street. The assault continued while the victim lay on the ground. The suspects fled on foot while the victim managed to make his way home and contact the police. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and sustained life-altering injuries.

On November 14, 2021, a female suspect was located and taken into custody. Jade Noelle BROWN, 20, of Winnipeg, was charged with Aggravated Assault and detained in custody.

A second suspect has been identified as Cordell Lionel THOMAS, 20 years of age. A Warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Shooting - Investigation: C21-268526

On November 16, 2021, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Winnipeg Police Tactical Support Team officers responded to a report of a shooting that had just occurred in the 500 block of Maryland Street. Responding officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and began administering emergency first aid. The victim was conveyed by ambulance to a hospital, in critical condition, where he remains.

Stabbing - Investigation: C21-268753

On November 17, 2021, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Winnipeg Police General Patrol officers responded to a report of a male stabbed at a hotel in the 800 block of Main Street. The victim, an employee of the hotel, was transported to hospital in unstable condition, where he remains.

Stabbing - Investigation: C21-268775

On November 17, 2021, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Winnipeg Police General Patrol officers responded to a report of a male stabbed at a residence in the 600 block of William Avenue. The victim, an adult male in his 30’s, was taken to hospital in stable condition.
