On November 18, 2021, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns & Gangs Unit entered into a firearms investigation. With the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 500 block of Redwood Avenue. Three adults were taken into custody, where a firearm, ammunition and 3 grams of methamphetamine were seized.
Johnathon Robert Alexander GUNN, (28), Flora Jane CARIBOU, (34), and Lester Alvin Ray SPENCE, (43), were charged with 17 firearms and drug-related offences. They were all detained in custody.
On November 18, 2021, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Winnipeg Police General Patrol officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred in the 400 block of Stradbrook Avenue. An adult male was in the process of delivering pizza in the area when he was confronted by the male suspect. The suspect brandished an axe and demanded the pizza. The victim fled but was pursued a short distance until he was able to get to safety. The victim was not injured.
