Homicide – Update: C21-287269

As previously released:

On December 9, 2021, at approximately 7:15 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a male shot in the street near the intersection of Stella Avenue and McGregor Street.

Responding officers located the victim, an adult male. He was transported to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries.

Update:

The deceased has been identified as Anthony James Sinclair, a 35-year-old male of Winnipeg.

Homicide – Investigation: C21-289705

On December 13, 2021, at 12:57 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 500 block of College Avenue for a report of a severely injured female that had been found inside a residence.

Upon arrival, officers began to provide emergency medical care. The female was transported to hopistal in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Flora Grey, a 41-year-old female of Winnipeg.

Stabbing – Arrest: C21-288938

On December 11, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing outside a multi-unit complex on Westgrove Way.

Police met with the victim, an adult male who had been stabbed. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

Initial information indicated the victim and the accused were not previously known to each other. They had a verbal exchange outside the complex when the victim was assaulted and the accused fled to another unit.

This investigation was turned over to the Major Crimes Unit.

A 16-year-old male faces charges for assault with a weapon and breach-related offences and three outstanding warrants. He was detained in custody. 

Stabbing – Arrest: C21-288042

On December 10, 2021, at approximately 6: 30 p.m., two youths and an unknown adult male (the victim) were standing inside a bus shelter in the Frasers Grove neighbourhood. The two youths became involved in a heated argument with the victim. The situation escalated, and the victim was stabbed by one of the youths. The two fled on a bus.

The victim in his forties was transported to hospital in stable condition, and police were contacted. East District officers located the accused on a bus at Portage Avenue and Dominion Street, taking her into custody.

A 16-year-old female faces Assault Cause Bodily Harm, and Possession of a Weapon charges. She was released on an Appearance Notice (as mandated by the Criminal Code).
