January 26, 2022 Media Release
On January 21, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing at a residence in the 400 block of Edgewood Street.
As officers arrived, a suspect fleeing the area was identified and taken into custody. Police quickly located a female victim in her forties inside the residence with serious injuries. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.
The Major Crimes Unit took over, and investigators determined that two family members became involved in a verbal argument when the victim was assaulted.
Alexzander TURNER, an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg, was charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of a Weapon.
On January 25, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the Disraeli Freeway bridge (Northbound) for a report of a serious collision involving a four-door vehicle with a large snow-clearing front-end loader.
WFPS extricated the driver and front passenger from the vehicle. The driver, a male in his twenties, was declared deceased at the scene. The front passenger, a female in her twenties, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she remains. A youth (teenager) seated in the rear was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.
It is believed the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed in attempts to overtake the snow-removal machine and its pilot vehicle when it lost control and crashed into the front-end loader.
Members of the Traffic Division continue to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-7085.

On January 24, 2022, at 11:33 p.m., General Patrol officers, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, responded to a hotel in the 200 block of Portage Avenue for a report of a male found with severe injuries as a result of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers began to provide emergency medical care to the victim—who was identified as a male in his 20's. He was subsequently transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable condition, where he remains.
Investigators in the Major Crimes Unit determined that several people had attended the suite for a drinking party. A verbal argument occurred between the victim and a few other people in attendance. The situation escalated into a physical fight between the victim and two other males resulting in the victim being stabbed. The two suspects fled the suite at which point the remaining occupants saw the victim’s injuries and contacted police.
On January 25, 2022, Tristan Thomas ROSS, 25, of Winnipeg, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Fail to Comply Probation Order
Investigators have identified another suspect in this assault: Shane Christopher David DELARONDE, 24, of Winnipeg.
A warrant has been issued for Aggravated Assault and weapon-related offences.
