Parks and Open Space

Parks & Open Space rental locations

We are now accepting park bookings as normal (subject to capacity of individual spaces), in compliance with Provincial public health orders. In-person park booking is not available at this time.

The recent relaxing of restrictions has resulted in a steep increase in demand for bookable park spaces and an unprecedented volume in booking requests.

Please submit your park booking application at least three weeks to a month prior to your event. Due to demand, your application may not be processed for a week or more.

We apologize for these delays and thank you for your patience.

Due to environmental concerns, the following items are prohibited in City of Winnipeg Parks:
Plastic or latex balloons, confetti, artificial flower petals. If you would like to bring balloons to your celebration, they must be made of aluminum foil. User groups are also prohibited from throwing rice during wedding ceremonies.

The Public Works Department, Parks and Open Space Division offers a number of park rental options to choose from for your day at the park. Look over the available services for each option and choose the service level that best fits your needs.

A reminder to park visitors not to use found wood or pieces of damaged and downed trees as firewood. Our Park By-law dictates people must not disturb, remove, or damage a tree, branch, flower, plant, or other vegetation in a park – and this includes deadwood. Any plant material found in a park must be left as-is, and using it as firewood is not permitted.
