Accepted materials

Please note that the Community Recycling Depots ONLY accept blue cart items. The 4R Winnipeg Depots accept a wide range of items.

The following recycling and reuse materials will be accepted at all 4R Winnipeg Depot locations for free drop off.

Special notes: no black plastics, no plastic bags, no polystyrene foam (Styrofoam)
Other glass Windows without frames, glassware, broken glass

Special notes: no sealed units, no frames or attachments, no windshields
Reused for roads and pads at Brady Road Resource Management Facility
Leaf and yard waste Grass clippings, leaves, plants, flowers, bush/shrub clippings, branches less than 10 centimetres in diameter

Special notes: no plastic bags
Clean fill Soil, sod, clay, sand Reused for cover at Brady Road Resource Management Facility
Tree wood waste Stumps, logs, branches more than 10 centimetres in diameter Composted, reused
Clean timber, lumber and wood Non-treated/non-painted cutoffs, pallets

Special notes: no painted, stained, or treated wood, no particle board, no plywood, no drywall

Rubble and masonry Brick, asphalt, patio stones, gravel, concrete

Special notes: no re-bar

Special notes: items must be 100% plastic. No metal components, no tarps, no bags, no vinyl siding, no PVC or ABS plastic. No black plastics.

Special notes: containers used to transport hazardous liquids will not be returned to you. Gasoline must be dropped off in a jerry can.
