Yesterday, MADD Winnipeg kicked off their Report Impaired Driving (RID) Campaign. #Campaign911 is a Canada-wide campaign to encourage and empower the Canadian public to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
By staying vigilant and reporting suspected impaired drivers to police, you can actively contribute to safer roads and waterways. Together, we can help reduce collisions, prevent injuries, and save lives.
Signs of impaired driving:
- Swerving or drifting between lanes
- Erratic braking or accelerating
- Driving unusually slow or fast
- Ignoring traffic signals or stop signs
- Delayed reaction to road conditions
- Struggling to maintain control of the vehicle
What To Do If You Observe a Potential Impaired Driver
- Call 911
- Note location and direction of travel for the vehicle
- Vehicle description
- License plate of vehicle
- Colour of vehicle
- Make and model of vehicle
- Description of driver
If you suspect someone is driving impaired, report it. Call the Winnipeg Police Service or RCMP immediately. Your report could save a life.
Let’s work together to keep our roads safe. Drive responsibly, make smart choices, and help us protect our community.
