Remembrance Day long weekend operating hours for City of Winnipeg facilities and services

Winnipeg, MB - All civic offices are closed on Remembrance Day, Monday, November 11, 2013.

Winnipeg Transit

On Monday, November 11, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

As it has done in other years, Winnipeg Transit will once again be observing a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013 in honour of Remembrance Day. At 11:00 a.m., Transit operators will be pulling over and stopping their buses at safe locations to recognize one minute of silence.

Also in honour of Remembrance Day, and for the first time, the route/destination signs on all buses have been programmed to display “LEST WE FORGET” during the moment of silence.

Recycling/Garbage Collection

Single-family homes
There is no recycling, garbage or yard waste collection on Monday, November 11 at single-family homes or apartments. Collection will be one day later for all customers, for the week of November 11 only:

All Leisure Centres will be closed on Monday, November 11.

All City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools will be closed on Monday, November 11 with the exception of Pan Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.

Pan Am Pool will be open 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Libraries

All Winnipeg Public Libraries will be closed on Monday, November 11.

Animal Services Agency

Hours of operation for the Animal Services Agency during the Remembrance Day long weekend are as follows:
