Advance Voting Begins Today

Winnipeg, MB - A School Trustee By-Election for the School Divisions of River East Transcona (Ward 3), St. James-Assiniboia (King Edward-Deer Lodge Ward) and Louis Riel (Ward 2) will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016.

Community advance voting for eligible voters will be open on May 25 and 26 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.:

In addition, all eligible voters can vote at City Hall, 510 Main Street, on Wednesday, June 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Identification Requirements
All voters are reminded that they are required to bring identification, such as a driver’s licence, which shows name and current address, when they come to vote. If a voter does not have valid government-issued photo identification that shows their name and current address, two documents that together prove name and current address will be required.

Use of Ballot Marking Devices for Persons with Disabilities
Ballot marking devices are offered at all advance voting locations. The device is designed to provide privacy and accessibility to voters who are blind, vision impaired, or have a disability or condition that would make it difficult or impossible to mark a ballot independently in the usual way.

Voters who are visually impaired or blind will also have the option to use a Braille template or receive assistance at advance polls and on by-election day
