Extended Snow Route Parking Ban starting tonight at midnight; parking prohibited on snow routes between midnight and 7 a.m.
Winnipeg, MB – In response to recent accumulations of snow and to facilitate snow clearing, an Extended Snow Route Parking Ban will be in effect starting tonight at 12 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
The Extended Snow Route Parking Ban prohibits parking on snow routes between midnight and 7 a.m.
The Extended Snow Route Parking Ban will be in place until snow clearing is completed and the public will be notified when the ban is lifted. This is the only parking ban currently in place. The City’s annual Snow Route Parking Ban comes into effect Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

Residents are encouraged to check their streets for snow route signs, or if unsure, to search an address on the snow route map, use the online address lookup tool, download the Know Your Zone app, or contact 311.
Snow routes are a top priority for snow clearing and ice control to ensure that emergency vehicles can navigate quickly and safely around the city. It’s important that vehicles are not parked on snow routes overnight in order to enable rapid and efficient snow clearing and ice control of these critical routes.
Vehicles parked in violation of the Extended Snow Route Parking Ban may receive a $100 ticket ($75 if paid early), and may be towed to the towing company’s compound.
Motorists are reminded to drive to conditions and to use extreme caution when driving near heavy equipment working.

Garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection impacts
Residents may experience recycling, garbage and yard waste collection delays as a result of the storm.
If your regular collection day was Thursday, your collection was moved to Friday because of Remembrance Day. We ask that you please keep your carts out until 10 p.m. tonight. If your carts or yard waste have not been collected by 10 p.m., please put them away and then place them out by 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
