Connecting professional makers with the public
The Maker-in-Residence (MiR) program connects library visitors with Winnipeg-based professional makers who are passionate about their craft and skills in visual/creative arts, technology, and/or digital media. These makers enjoy teaching and mentoring - and igniting and supporting creativity in others.
The MiR works out of Millennium Library’s ideaMILL with public drop-in open studio time. In addition, scheduled workshops are held in the ideaMILL and library branches.

Learn about the ideaMILL makerspace
The MiR works out of Millennium Library’s ideaMILL makerspace - a space for collaboration and learning. You will find tools such as sewing machines, sound booths, musical instruments, 3D printing and computers with creative software.
The Maker-in-Residence program is funded by the City of Winnipeg. Call-outs for makers to apply are held at least once a year. For questions about the program, please contact us.
