The following codes are enforced for construction projects in Winnipeg.
Construction codes
The 2020 editions of the national model building, energy, plumbing and fire codes came into force in Manitoba on January 1, 2024. These codes are enforced through the Winnipeg Building By-Law 4555/87 and the Fire Prevention By-Law 35/2017. Manitoba's construction codes have been adopted with Manitoba amendments by provincial regulation.
- Manitoba Building Code Regulation 78/2023
- Outlines the design and construction of new buildings. It also applies to the alteration, change of use, and demolition of existing buildings.

- Manitoba Energy Code for Buildings Regulation 79/2023
- Outlines energy efficiency in the design and construction of new buildings. It also applies to additions to existing buildings.

- Manitoba Plumbing Code Regulation 80/2023
- Outlines the design and installation of new plumbing systems. It also applies to the extension, alteration, renewal, and repair of existing plumbing systems.

Electrical codes
The 2024 edition of the Canadian Electrical Code came into force in Manitoba on April 1, 2026. This code is enforced through the Manitoba Electrical Code and the Winnipeg Electrical By-law. Manitoba amendments have been adopted by provincial regulation.
