Firearms – Arrest: C22-53587

During the afternoon of March 15, 2022, as part of an ongoing firearms investigation, members in the North District Community Support Unit were patrolling in the Lord Selkirk Park neighbourhood.

An adult male known to police was taken into custody at Selkirk Avenue and Aikins Street. A sawed-off Lee Enfield bolt-action rifle and a Glock 19 Airsoft pistol with an obliterated serial number were found concealed in his backpack.

Dezmend Anthony Warchild LINKLATER, 23, of Winnipeg, was charged with the following firearm offences:

- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Court Order x 2
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device x 2
- Transport Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations

He was detained in custody.
