Homicide – Arrest & Public Assistance Requested: C22-23528

The Winnipeg Police Service continues to seek the public’s assistance in the murder of Heather Marie Cheyane BEARDY, a 26-year-old female of Winnipeg. Three suspects have been identified, with one suspect still outstanding.

On February 2, 2022, Beardy was located deceased at an apartment in the 400 block of Furby Street. As the investigation progressed, three adults who were known acquaintances of the deceased were identified.

On February 28, Amos Joe KEMATCH, a 27-year-old male, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

On March 15, a second suspect, Tanisha Caitlin FLETT, a 26-year-old female was arrested at the Law Courts. She was charged with Second Degree Murder, and detained in custody.

The Homicide Unit continues to seek the public’s assistance in locating Leah Carol CLIFTON, 34 years of age, who is wanted for Second Degree Murder.

She is a white female, 5’6” in height, weighs approximately 140-150 lbs and has a medium build. She has a tattoo with the words “RIP Dean” on the right side of her neck.

If you see CLIFTON, do not approach; call 911. If you have information regarding her whereabouts, call the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
