Commercial Robberies – Arrest: C22-71487

Members of the Major Crimes Unit have charged a 13-year-old male for five robberies that occurred to a retail business in the 600 block of Dakota Street over an eight-month period:

- On August 9, 2021, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a male suspect attended the store and, while armed with a knife in his waistband, stole cash before fleeing.

- On November 22, 2021, at approximately 9:40 a.m., a male suspect attended the store, brandished a knife and stole money before fleeing.

- On November 25, 2021, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a male suspect attended the store and stole money at knifepoint before fleeing. During the robbery, an employee had a knife held to her throat. She was not physically injured.

- On December 7, 2021, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a male suspect attended the store while armed with a knife and demanded money. When the employee refused, the suspect threw merchandise at her and fled.

- On April 7, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a male suspect attended the store and brandished a knife. He ran towards an employee and pulled her down with the knife in his hand before threatening to stab her. She was not physically injured, and the male stole money before fleeing. Soon after, officers located a suspect at a residence in the area and took him into custody.

A 13-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

- Robbery (x5)
- Possession of a Weapon (x5)
- Assault with a Weapon (x3)
- Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm

He was detained in custody.
