In April 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Sex Crimes Unit was contacted by five adult survivors of historical sexual assaults. The assaults were reported to have occurred between 2004 and 2011 while they were students and played football for Churchill High School and Vincent Massey Collegiate

The survivors all reported that during this time frame, they had been sexually assaulted by the same adult male who initially taught physical education and coached football at Churchill and subsequently became the physical education teacher and football coach at Vincent Massey.

The suspect forged relationships with these students, where he regularly communicated with them. The majority of the offences occurred at the suspect’s residence.

On April 12, 2022, the Sex Crimes Unit arrested and charged Kelsey Albert Dana MCKAY, 51, of Winnipeg, with the following offences:

- Sexual Assault x 5
- Sexual Exploitation x 4
- Sexual Interference x 1
- Luring x 4

He has been released on Crown Consent with conditions (per the Criminal Code).
