On April 18, 2022, at approximately 2:15 a.m., General Patrol officers responded to a wellbeing report from a convenience store where an injured male had attended seeking help.

Officers located a male in his twenties who had been stabbed. They provided emergency medical care, including a tourniquet. The victim was subsequently transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

An initial investigation determined the assault occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Johnson Avenue. The victim had attended the residence along with several other previously known acquaintances from the drug subculture. An argument ensued during their gathering, and the victim was stabbed, beaten, and prevented from leaving. He eventually escaped, seeking help and police were contacted.

The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation, and six adults were arrested and charged with aggravated assault and forcible confinement.
