Firearms – Arrests: C22-79702

In April of 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service investigated a known drug trafficker conducting illegal activity within the City of Winnipeg.

Members of the Guns and Gangs Unit continued the investigation and obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 300 block of Manitoba Avenue.

On April 19, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, executed the search warrant and arrested two males within the residence.

The following items were located and seized within the residence:

  • 9 mm handgun with various ammunition
  • 40 grams of Crack Cocaine (estimated street value of $4000)
  • Packaging material and drug paraphernalia

William SINCLAIR, 27, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

  • Warrant of Arrest (Unlawfully at Large)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime under $5000
  • Various Firearms related offences
  • Fail to Comply with Prohibition Order x 2

Calvin WADITAKA, 24, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

  • Warrant of Arrest x 3
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime under $5000
  • Various Firearms related offences

SINCLAIR and WADITAKA were detained in custody.
