On February 25, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of the Central District Community Support Unit were proactively patrolling in the downtown Winnipeg area when they observed a male who was actively attempting to break into a parked vehicle in a surface lot at the corner of Garry Street and Graham Avenue.

Officers attended and observed that the back window of a 2023 Ford F150 and the suspect within. Officers provided the suspect with verbal direction to exit then vehicle and he was subsequently arrested without incident.

A search of the suspect revealed a folding knife concealed on his person.

A 57-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
