Homicide – Update: C22-72540

As previously released:

On April 8, 2022, at 6:17 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 500 block of Magnus Avenue for a report of an individual armed with weapons.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suspect outside a residence and took him into custody. A deceased adult male was found inside the house soon after.

The death is being investigated as a homicide, and the suspect remains in Winnipeg Police Service custody at this time.

Update:

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Franklin Aaron Tobacco, a 31-year-old male of Winnipeg.

David Allan Morrisseau, a 29-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with Second Degree Murder. He was detained in custody.
