On April 22, 2025 at approximately 2:55 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to CF Polo Park Mall in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue for the report of several male youths brandishing a handgun in a public area. Reports by mall security also relayed that the firearm had been discharged within the premises.

Mall security monitored the suspect and provided information to emergency call takers. Attending West District General Patrol officers were directed to the mall’s food court where two youths were arrested without incident. An airsoft pistol was seized from one of the suspects.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

A 15-year-old male of Winnipeg faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Causing a Disturbance

He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.

The second youth was released on his own recognizance without charges.
